A Fashion Guide to Christmas

#WITHAMSCHELA

The lights are switched on, the German markets are back, and the advent calendars counting down the days until Christmas are being opened. In this festive tide, there is an unbroken stream of parties, feasting, gift shopping, and wrapping. In this edition of Amschelagenic, we offer a helping hand through the busiest time of year so that you can sparkle at your finest. From Bristol’s Christmas hidden gems, party style inspo, to sustainable gifts, we’ve got it covered.

Winter Hotspots

As a Bristol independent brand, we thought we’d spotlight our city and its unique indie shopping districts that unless you’re a Bristolian, you may yet to discover. At the top of our list is the Christmas Steps, a little (but be warned, VERY steep) flagstone lane located in the historic Arts Quarter. Hidden by the modern buildings that lay in front of it, the discrete Christmas Steps are easily missed but once found you won’t forget them. Dating back to the 1600s, this fascinating place will transport you back in time and is illuminated by fairy lights at night. Four centuries later, the shopping area is still brimming with life as it’s been filled with art galleries, dress makers, musical instruments, cafes and even a cosy pub at the bottom named after it. Make sure to snap a few photos while you’re there.

Take a look at our Christmas campaign which we shot on the steps…

After visiting the Christmas Steps, you can continue your exploration by heading across to the Old City, where you’ll discover St Nicholas market. Beneath historic buildings, there lies a myriad of quirky market stalls, as well as places to rest your feet for some obligatory mulled wine.

Staff Xmas Style

Our favourite thing about this time of year? The never-ending number of opportunities to dress up. To help you rise to the occasion of sparkle season, we’ve turned to the Amschela team for some style wisdom.

Wearing the Shiloh in Pale Pink

‘The Shiloh is fun as well as being timeless – perfect for more casual daytime wear but equally the perfect glamorous accessory for an evening when I’m more dressed up.’

Emily, Social Media Assistant
Wearing the Thais Medium in Emerald Iris

‘Wearing the Thais is so empowering. It instantly elevates your look and makes you feel confident. I decided to wear a festive colour palette by styling with faux red leather trousers and of course, a bit of glitter.’

Claudia, Social Media Executive
Wearing the Thais Mini in Deep Violet & Chassis Black

‘We are in love with our Thais minis as they are adorable, sturdy and a staple piece to every outfit.’

‘I styled the Thais Deep Violet Mini with a black split hem mini skirt, laced black bodysuit, leather jacket and gold jewellery.’

Tamika, Customer Service & Order Assistant

‘I styled the Thais Chassis Black Mini with an asymmetric stain black polka dot skirt, black crop top, suede jacket and gold jewellery.’

Sherikia, Logistics & Inventory Assistant

Wearing the Rene Brunel in Charm

‘I adore the Rene Brunel bag in Charm, it’s multicolour embroidery features makes it very easy to wear with a multitude of colours. I recently attended an event and picked out the green embroidery to pair it with a leprecaun green sequin suit, candy pink camisole and mules.
